Moorditj Wirrin Koolangkas (Strong Spirit Kids) is a youth health program that aims to strengthen the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 10 to 18 years across the Perth metropolitan area.
Delivered by East Metropolitan Health Service Aboriginal Health Promotion Officers, the free six-week program provides culturally grounded health education on tobacco and vaping, alcohol, healthy relationships, puberty, consent and sexual health. The program supports young people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing and increases awareness of services that can help them meet their needs and goals.
Participants are provided food during each hour-long session and receive a participation certificate and information resources at the end of the program.
