La Trobe recently launched their survey 'Understanding Teachers' Experiences of Teaching Relationships and Sexuality Education in Australia'. It aims to understand how prepared, confident, and supported educators feel when teaching topics such as sex and relationships, consent, Respectful Relationships, and protective behaviours programs. It also seeks to identify any concerns educators may have, and what supports they believe would improve their confidence and delivery of this important content.
They are inviting responses from:
- Qualified teachers who have delivered RSE in an Australian school in the past five years, and
- Pre-service teachers with an interest in delivering RSE in the future.
Previous iterations of this survey have yielded modest sample sizes (n=179 in 2010, n=156 in 2020). The numbers for 2025 are looking a bit low, and they would greatly appreciate your help in increasing participation this time around, particularly from pre-service teachers.
