A practical action plan for schools to support students, parents, guardians and carers. The plan is to be completed with the child/young person and their parents, guardians or carers. When talking about support arrangements it is preferable that the child/young person tells you what they need but in some situations their parents or carers might take the lead on identifying the support required.
The support arrangements are informed by the South Australian Government Department’s
- policy ‘Supporting gender diverse, intersex and sexually diverse children and young people’ and
- procedure ‘Gender diverse and intersex children and young people support’.
The plan is to be monitored and adjusted as required, so that it continues to meet the needs of the child or young person.
