'After School I'll Marry You' DVD
Created by the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre and directed by multicultural actors from the Sharing Stories Youth Theatre Ensemble, the film explores the struggles of relationships, peers, parents and parties from a young person’s point of view. Primarily for use by educators, the film aims to provide a culturally relevant way to begin a discussion with or among young people about sexual health and staying safe. Age of consent laws
According to criminal law in Australia, the age of consent refers to the age a person is considered to be capable of legally giving informed consent to sexual acts with another person. When a person engages in sexual behaviour with someone below the age of consent, they are committing a criminal offence (child sexual abuse).
Alcohol and pregnancy disorder resources
The revised and reprinted Alcohol and Pregnancy and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Resources for Health Professionals are now available following the publication of the Australian Guidelines to Reduce Health Risks from Drinking Alcohol (NHMRC, 2009). Originally developed for use in Western Australia but now adapted for use nationally the resources are available to health professionals throughout Australia. Developed by the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research.
